RESEARCH INTERESTS

I am currently focused on the colloidal synthesis of bismuth nanocrystals for use in SLS growth of nanowires, along with the study of their magnetic properties. New syntheses for bismuth that give better control over shape and size of the particles are desirable for SLS growth, leading to narrower distributions of wire diameters. I am also interested in the application of III-V nanowires and nanoparticles as absorber layers for ultra-low cost photovoltaic devices. Especially with the price of oil at over $100 per barrel, using the sun as a renewable, clean, and cheaper source of energy is extremely desirable.
