RESEARCH INTERESTS
Throughout my academic career I have created and studied nanomaterials that have advanced the scientific community and provided innovation in the areas of medicine, energy, photonics, and microelectronics. I have considerable expertise in the synthesis, characterization, and surface chemistry of silicon and germanium nanocrystals, nanorods, and nanowires. I have also synthesized and studied gold nanorods, gold nanoshells, and copper chalcogenide nanocrystals for plasmonic applications. I am currently focused on using nanomaterials to diagnosis and treat human diseases.
