11.08.2018 - Congratulations to Dr. Cherrelle Thomas, who just successfully defended her dissertation, titled "Surface Functionalization of CuInSe2 and CsPbI3 Nanocrystals: Conversion Yields, Exciton Kinetics, and Thermal Stability"! Dr. Thomas has also accepted a post-doc position with Sandia National Labs.

12.08.2016 - We are saddened to hear of the loss of our group alumna Cindy Stowell, Ph.D. 2005. While a Ph.D. student Cindy studied aspects of colloidal nanocrystals. Cindy stayed in Austin following her graduation, working as a science content developer for Sapling Learning. Recently, Cindy achieved her dream of appearing as a contestant on Jeopardy

9.12.2008 - Dr. Brian Korgel received the Roy-Somiya Medal of the International Solvothermal and Hydrothermal Association. It is named after the two patrons of this society. This is the first award from ISHA given to a Young Scientist in the age group below 45 years. The Roy-Somiya Medal was presented to Brian along with a citation at the ISHA-2008 Conference held in Nottingham, UK during Sept. 08-10, 2008.
